Understand Pain: The Body’s Alarm System
Before you watch, one important idea
Pain is often an alarm, a message, not the problem itself.
Quick fixes may quiet the signal for a time, but lasting relief usually comes from understanding why the alarm went off in the first place. Physical therapy, when guided by nervous system awareness, helps interpret these signals rather than override them.
True healing reconnects you with the body’s innate intelligence. Pain is often a precursor to change, and many people live with it longer than they need to.

Under New Jersey’s direct access law, patients may receive evaluation and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions from a licensed physical therapist without a physician’s referral. This allows you to begin care promptly, while your therapist thoroughly assesses your needs and determines whether medical referral or additional clearance is appropriate.
All physical therapy services are provided in accordance with the New Jersey State Physical Therapy Practice Act (P.L. 1983, c.296) and the regulations of the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Services are delivered under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, as defined by N.J.S.A. 45:9-37.13.
Decompression Sessions are wellness-based, non-medical services and do not include physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment.
